Website statistics
We count visits to www.outwithdata.com to see how the site is used and to improve it. We do this with Umami, open-source software we run ourselves on a server in London. No other company receives the data. When you open a page, your browser tells our server which page it was, the site that linked you here, and your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language. Our server uses your IP address for a moment to work out your country and to tell one day's visits apart, then discards it. It stores no IP address and sets no cookies. The identifier it uses changes every day, so we cannot follow you from one day to the next or build a profile of you. We keep these statistics for at most 25 months, use them only for our own figures about this site, and never combine them with anything else we hold, including the waitlist. We rely on the exception for statistics in paragraph 5 of Schedule A1 to the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, and on our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used. You can object at any time: choose "Opt out of website statistics" at the foot of any page. It is free and takes one click, and your browser remembers that choice and sends us nothing; if you clear your browser's data for our site, you will need to opt out again. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we count nothing. Questions: hello@outwithdata.com.
Waitlist
If you join the waitlist we keep your email address, the date you joined and that you joined from this site, so that we can tell you when early access opens. We keep nothing else: not your IP address, your browser or the page that sent you here. The list is kept in Outwith's own Google Cloud project in London, and we receive an email for each new sign-up. We use your address only to tell you about early access, because you asked us to. Email hello@outwithdata.com at any time and we will delete it; otherwise we delete it within 12 months of early access opening.
